Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The Behavioral Health Services Division is dedicated to delivering quality mental health and substance abuse care through a variety of programs and services aimed at empowering the individual to improve their quality of life. It is the mission of the Behavioral Health Services Division to provide comprehensive diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and community education services to the individuals of the catchment area. The orientation of the Behavioral Health Services Division is to utilize its resources in ways that are responsive to a variety of community behavioral health needs and to allow for a wide provision of services to individuals across the life span. Individuals are assisted with accessing services which are outside the scope of the Behavioral Health Services Division. The Behavioral Health Services Division provides a continuum of services from short-term therapy, child and adolescent therapy which includes 24-hour emergency crisis intervention services, psychiatric evaluation and medication treatment, through case management, psychosocial rehabilitation, as well as housing and employment assistance for individuals diagnosed with a mental illness, substance use disorder, or a co-occurrence of disorders. This well organized, highly integrated delivery system serves to maximize continuity of care to its individuals. Services provided are based on the belief that treatment is individual driven and implemented in the least restrictive manner available. All behavioral health services offered adhere to professionally accepted standards and practices and are continuously monitored by the Behavioral Health Services Division's quality assurance procedures.

We are proud to offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case management services to HIV positive individuals along with a history of delivering compassionate HIV/AIDS clinical and education services. Our convenient services are available at locations around Northern Virginia. We provide compassionate, dignified care to individuals regardless of their sex, race, background, sexual orientation, religious preference, financial status or insurance coverage.
