The Fairfax Detoxification Center is a short-term residential program for adults who need help to safely detoxify from the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. Length of stay depends upon the individual’s condition and ability to stabilize. The center provides: Clinically managed (social) and medical detoxification; Buprenorphine detoxification; Daily acupuncture (acudetox); Health, wellness, and engagement services; Assessment for treatment services; HIV/HCV/TB education; Universal precautions education; Case management services; Referral services for follow-up and appropriate care; and An introduction to the 12-Step recovery process. DIVERSION TO DETOX A mobile team of CSB staff which responds to police and community requests to intervene at the scene of a potential arrest to refer the individual instead to detoxification services. MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT The Addiction Medicine Clinic (AMC) at the CSB's Merrifield Center provides medication-assisted detoxification services and substance abuse treatment to adults in an outpatient setting. Using the clinic's services allows individuals to remain in their community throughout their treatment, if appropriate. Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

Eastern Shore Rural Health is a Community Health Center Network committed to a healthy Eastern Shore. They provide medical, oral, and behavioral health care and support services to everyone in their community regardless of ability to pay. As primary health care providers, they serve patients and work with others to manage patients’ health needs in a safe, professional way that also respects the culture of every individual. The Free Clinic of Pulaski County serves those in the community who are otherwise not served by Medicaid or Medicare, do not have private health insurance and whose income does not exceed 130% of the current Federal poverty guideline. Clinics are held Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons by appointment, from 10AM to 3PM every other Friday and on Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30 PM. The clinic also assists patients in accessing the Medication Assistance Programs of the various pharmaceutical manufacturers. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, 826 individuals were served and 6,447 prescriptions were filled.

The mission of the Crisis Center is to offer the communities we serve education, advocacy and intervention allowing individuals to find positive solutions for personal crises. Through support, hope and education we strive to restore emotional balance to both individuals and the communities in which they live.

St. Luke Community Clinic (SLCC) serves uninsured patients who are under 200% of the federal poverty level. SLCC provides chronic and primary care to eligible individuals referring patients for more specialized care if that care is available from our medical partners in our community. From the ages of 18 to 64, our patient population transcends all walks of life. A woman?s health program is available. The clinic also works with patients to obtain necessary medications.
