Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The Fauquier County Health Department is a local office of the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health. It is a State entity that provides environmental health services, including the issuance of well and sewage disposal or septic permits, and clinic services to the citizens of Fauquier County. While providing services to the citizens of Fauquier County, it is not a department of the Fauquier County government. The Fauquier County Health Department is a part of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District which is headquartered in the Environmental Health Services office in Warrenton.
