AAt Community Access Network, our vision is that everyone has a medical home providing optimal individual and community wellness. We lead the way in creating a network of healthcare providers and organizations that prioritize health and compassion over bottom lines and will work to break down the barriers that keep individuals from getting the care they deserve. We serve everyone—regardless of age or insurance status.
We want patients to understand that we—the staff, the doctors, the nurses— live, work and play in the same community as they do. When patients come to Community Access Network, they’re being treated by their neighbors, their fellow church members and those they see on the bus every morning. We want our patients to understand that their health is all that matters to us and that the quality of care they’ll receive will be consistent, courteous and compassionate.
Our medical offices are open evening hours, and we offer same-day and walk-in services at some locations.
We accept most insurances, including: PCHP, Optima, Anthem, Aetna, VAPremier, Tricare, Medicaid and Medicare.

Addiction Treatment at Virginia Hospital Center has always recognized addiction as a chronic, progressive and potentially fatal disease that can be arrested with appropriate professional care and patient education. By helping substance abusers understand and accept the fact that they have a disease, we can then help teach them the tools and techniques they need to manage their illness and take responsibility for their own health.
From intensive inpatient care to outpatient programs, every aspect of the Addiction Treatment program reflects our emphasis on interdisciplinary treatment. By utilizing the skills, training and experience of a wide range of professionals, we bring all the expertise available to help patients free themselves of the constraints of dependence.

The Free Clinic of Central Virginia serves low-income (200% of the federal poverty level or lower) persons without health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid for the service being requested and provided. Present figures indicate that over 70% of the patients are working at least one part-time job or more. At least one-third of the Free Clinic patients have been identified with chronic illnesses (i.e. asthma, diabetes, hypertension), which necessitate ongoing medical care and medications. Specialty medical services are available in 20 different areas. A Medication Accesss Program, which is called MedsHelp, provides prescription services to Free Clinic patients as well to patients referred by physicians in the Central Virginia community. A dental clinic for exams, dental hygiene services, restorations, and extractions treated 2,034 unduplicated patients in over 5,200 visits in 2011. Some dental specialty services have been added, but they are only provided to long term patients at this time.
