Operating for 40+ years, Southeastern Virginia Health System (SEVHS) is the premier community-based health care initiative in Hampton Roads for the insured, uninsured, and underinsured. The 501(c)3 operates twelve sites, providing primary care and dental services to individuals and families. SEVHS physicians are board-certified and provide services in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology. With practices located in Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Franklin, SEVHS also offers a number of other support services such as health education and nutrition counseling, case management, referrals to specialty care, medication assistance and on-site lab testing. Southeastern Virginia Health System is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VACHA). SEVHS services over 25,000 patients annually.

Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. Catawba Hospital is a temporary home. Catawba is an inpatient psychiatric facility with 110 beds that provides comprehensive mental health services including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Catawba serves adult patients 18 years and older, with specialized expertise in the treatment of geriatric patients. Catawba Hospital provides the highest standard of professional care. Individualized treatment is provided through interdisciplinary teams (including psychiatry, nursing, internal medicine, social work, psychology, substance abuse, psychosocial rehabilitation, pharmacy, and dietary). Programs in a newly designed treatment mall emphasize psychiatric rehabilitation, recovery from mental illness, and re-integration into the community. Catawba is a Joint Commission accredited facility, certified by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The Student Health Center’s mission is to provide culturally competent, quality care while promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviors through health promotion and disease prevention. Metro TeenAIDS, founded in 1988, is a community health organization dedicated to supporting young people in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through education, support, and advocacy, MTA provides HIV testing and counseling to prevent the spread of HIV. MTA promotes responsible decision-making through its in-school and after-school school programs, and improves the quality of life for young people who are HIV-positive, at risk of HIV infection, or in families with HIV/AIDS. MTA is the only organization in the Washington, DC area focused solely on the needs of youth as they relate to HIV and AIDS.

Community Services Board Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH) offers an array of services and supports to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. From developmental services for infants to children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression or drug addiction. Currently, they only accept residents of Chesapeake.

Caring Hearts Free Clinic is a volunteer-driven organization committed to creating solutions for a healthy community of all ages by: removing barriers to access; treating holistically with dignity, with respect and without judgment; providing primary care service and health education; and providing support and referral services to those without access to basic health care. Their mission is to provide free, non-judgmental, quality healthcare to those in need by using a solid base of culturally diverse community resources.

The mission of the Surry Area Free Clinic is to provide medical, dental and pharmaceutical care to the area working poor, using volunteer and professional staff. The Surry Area Free Clinic?s intention is to help those who are making a sincere effort to help themselves and their families. Most of our patients have incomes at or below 100% of the federal poverty level. We treat mostly patients who have at least one chronic illness.

When patients come to Community Access Network, they’re being treated by their neighbors, their fellow church members and those they see on the bus every morning. We want our patients to understand that their health is all that matters to us and that the quality of care they’ll receive will be consistent, courteous and compassionate. Our medical offices are open evening hours, and we offer same-day and walk-in services at some locations. We accept most insurances, including: PCHP, Optima, Anthem, Aetna, VAPremier, Tricare, Medicaid and Medicare.

Our mission is to build a healthy Latino community through culturally appropriate health services, focusing on those most in need. We envision a diverse, inclusive, healthy, safe, and happy community, free from violence and discrimination, where individuals have access to healthcare and are well-informed and empowered to care for themselves and their families.

The Fauquier Free Clinic serves low-income, uninsured residents of both Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. Our patients come from households living at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. Over 65% of our patients are employed. Most are working in the service sector or in agriculture. We treat only those patients with no health insurance and no access to Medicaid, Medicare or other health care support.
